Anna portrays Cleopatra



Anna Liggett portrayed Cleopatra in the Halloween parade on Friday, October 27, at St. Paul School. The parade was held in the Activity Center, former Chapel, because of rain.

Playing in the leaves


With temperatures hitting the frost mode, the leaves are beginning to fall rapidly. Posing for a photo after a romb in leaves they raked up on Neptune Avenue are Anna and Erin Liggett and their friend, Julia Valley.

Bishop Amos named Davenport Bishop

His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI today announced the appointment of The Most Rev. Martin J. Amos, Auxiliary Bishop in the Diocese of Cleveland, as the new Bishop for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Davenport, Iowa.

The announcement was made by Bishop Richard Lennon.

Bishop Amos will become the eighth Bishop of the Diocese of Davenport which was established in 1881 and contains more than 105,650 Catholics and 84 parishes throughout the southeast section of the state. His installation is scheduled for Monday, November 20th.

A native Clevelander, Bishop Amos was ordained to the priesthood on May 25, 1968 and was ordained a Bishop in the Diocese of Cleveland on June 7, 2001 where his duties have focused on special care of the southern districts of the Diocese, maintaining an office in Akron.

In response to the announcement from the Holy See, Cleveland Bishop Richard Lennon has asked everyone: "Please join with me in thanking God for the gifts of Bishop Martin Amos as bishop and priest of the Diocese of Cleveland for the past 38 years. Also, Let us pray for God's blessings upon him as he will soon begin this new ministry."

A Mass of Thanksgiving and farewell is scheduled for St. John Cathedral in Cleveland on Thursday, November 9th at 7:00 p.m. and will be followed by a reception. All are welcome.

Balloons mark 80th anniversary

During this school year, students, faculty and alumni at St. Paul School, Akron, are celebrating the school’s 80th anniversary. The school opened the academic year with Mass and a balloon launch. Students also placed several items in a time capsule to be opened in 20 years during the school’s 100h anniversary.
